Shooting At Party Hosted By Julian Peterson

Anne Arundel County police are investigating a shooting over the weekend during a pool party in Gambrills, Maryland, hosted by Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington and San Francisco Forty-Niners linebacker Julian Peterson.

Police are confirming a report by WUSA TV that the home in the 1,700 block of Saddle Drive was being rented by Arrington for the party.

Thirty-eight-year-old James Sidney of Hyattsville was shot during a scuffle early Sunday morning and was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. He was listed in serious, but stable, condition later in the day..

WUSA reports Sidney was working security at the party and intervened in a fight involving someone else. Police say neither Arrington or Peterson have been charged, either in the fight or the shooting..

According to the television report, the party was a charity event and Sidney was wounded in the back. The Redskins would not comment on the report for WUSA TV..

Police say no one has been charged in the shooting or the fight..

Anne Arundel County police spokesman Lieutenant Joseph Jordan says police don't believe Arrington was anywhere near where the trouble took place, although he was present at the party.
