Speedboat Crashes Into Hunters Point Shipyard Pier

June 30 (ABC7) -- San Francisco police are trying to figure out what caused
a powerboat carrying eight people to crash into a concrete pier at the
Hunters Point Shipyard in San Francisco.

The accident happened around 9:30 last night.

SKY 7 shot video this morning.

The vessel smashed into the pier going pretty fast. Paramedics couldn't
reach the pier because the gate was locked.

The Coast Guard brought the victims to another dock, where ambulances could
get through.

Three people suffered serious injuries, including a fractured spine and a
broken collarbone.

The operator was tested for alcohol. His levels were within legal limits.
