Pilot In 680 Crash Guilty Of Recklessness

June 25 (ABC7)The pilot who crashed into a van on interstate 680 in Concord last year and seriously injured a young girl has been found guilty of flying recklessly.

That accident happened last April. The plane's propeller sliced through the van, nearly severing the leg of then 11-year-old Arianna Jimenez.

A judge suspended Robert Hatch's pilot license for six months.

The mechanic who repaired his plane was also found guilty of numerous violations. His license has also been suspended.

The two men may appeal.

Arianna's mother says the punishment amounts to a slap on the wrist.
